• Star Reporter - elementary and secondary programs, moderate to severe special needs, based on a monthly newsletter concept/monthly themes, subscription service with teachers receiving materials monthly September through June, from Ablenet

Reading/Literacy Curriculum

• Early Literacy Skill Builders - ages five to ten, moderate to severe disabilities, print program, phonics and sight words, research based, aligned to standards, use 1:1 or in small groups, allows for non-verbal responses, from Attainment
• Edmark Reading Program, grades K-6 (although older students have used successfully), mild to severe special needs, print and/or software program (software program has accessible features like scanning), sight word based program that introduces visual discrimination and then a controlled vocabulary in a controlled sequence followed by -s, -ed, -ing and basic phonics, from Riverdeep/Harcourt
• PCI Reading Program - Pre-K-transition, mild to severe special needs, print and/or software (software has accessibility features like scanning), this is a 1:1 program and is designed to take a full year per level, it is sight word based and begins with visual discrimination, it is research based and aligned to standards, there is a funding guide to assist with finding money for purchase, from PCI

Math Curriculum

• Equals Maths - Pre-K through transition, mild to severe/profound special needs, curriculum kits, print based, designed to be used with assistive technology, aligned to national math and state standards, from Ablenet, uses photographs and Pic-Symbols

Science Curriculum

• Exploring Science Through Symbols and Words, grades 3-12, moderate special needs (severe with some adaptations), print and PDFs on disc, includes symbol assisted readings, quizzes and experiments, great for use for alternative assessment in states using portfolios, from PCI, uses Mayer-Johnson Picture Communication Symbols
